Binghamton Arts & Athletics Community Fund
Providing greater access to the arts and athletics while bringing awareness to the benefits they have in the development and overall well-being of people.
Although it may seem that sports and art exist on opposite sides of the universe, there’s a little bit of art in every sport and a little sport in all art.

The strength of the Greater Binghamton area starts with its people. Rich with culture, diversity, and athletics. Binghamton’s history has led to it being called the “Valley of Opportunity”, Today, Binghamton has a concentration of high-tech firms, healthcare- and education, with Binghamton University acting as a driving force behind this revitalization.
Resilience
– Nelson Mandela
Resilience – the ability to persist through challenges and recover from adversity – is no longer considered a character trait by researchers but a “practiced interaction between person and environment(1),” This is where awareness and access to the Arts & Athletics converge to present these opportunities to practice.
There are 7 integral and interrelated components that make up being resilient – competence, confidence, connection, character, contribution, coping and control. (Dr Ginsburg, child pediatrician and human development expert)
